Greetings Team Glendale,

I wanted to update everyone on our stadium bleacher progress. Springfield voters approved a 2009 bond which allocated money to Glendale for new electric and technology upgrades and new stadium lights and bleachers. We are in the process of planning for the new electrical next summer, the lights are nearly completed, and the bleachers are not completed. According to the contract with DeWitt and Associates, the bleachers were to be completed by July 23rd. Obviously, the bleachers are not complete. We are waiting on the aluminum seating to complete the project. This aluminum comes from a company out of Texas. The owner of this company did not pay his workers and they consequently walked off the job. Representatives from DeWitt and associates have traveled to Texas and tried to get the workers to complete this project and be paid for their work by DeWitt and not their original employer. Needless to say, a giant mess, that now involves Glendale because we have no bleachers. DeWitt and Associates are facing daily fines for missing the target completion date and are trying to remedy the situation. Our goal is to make sure that we have bleachers available for our first varsity home football game on September 3rd. I will be sending out updates to let everyone know how DeWitt is progressing in order to meet this goal.
