Kickapoo Breaks Losing Streak to Glendale
After 3 years in-a-row of Glendale dominating Kickapoo in football, our Falcons lost to the Chiefs 7-28 Thursday night. Kickapoo had not defeated Glendale in football since the 2005 season.
The first half was once again close. The Chiefs would score first to take a 0-7 lead, and would end up scoring again to take a 0-14 lead – both teams would trade too many turnovers throughout the first half, as our Falcons showed they could move the ball against a highly-regarded Kickapoo defense, but with no points to show for it. With barely more than a minute left in the half, our Falcons mounted an impressive drive, culminating on a touchdown pass from Adam Noble to Trevor Vaughn from Kickapoo’s 6- yard line, with no time left on the clock. That left us trailing 7-14 at the half.
But the second half, as has plagued our Falcons all year, proved to be our downfall as we would not score again, while the Chiefs tacked on two more touchdowns for the final 7-28 victory. Our Falcons will travel to Ozark next Friday October 9th to take on the Tigers, so make the short trip down to Ozark and cheer on our Falcons to our coveted first win of the season – GO FALCONS!!!
