Notes from March Booster Club Meeting
This is the information we covered at the meeting on March 18. If you have questions, you are encouraged to email the Booster Club president, Jim Lewis at jlewis@kpmcpa.com or Coach Heman at jheman@spsmail.org.
The new officers are Jim Lewis, president; Brian Straughan, treasurer; and Tina Watson, Secretary.
With the addition of games in the schedule for the fall season, the Ad book deadlines are earlier than ususal. The Ad book information will be handed to the kids at the first day of summer workout. (below is the attachment with the summer schedule). Last year we were way down with our fundraising via the Ad book. Most of the money raised was done so by the senior class and this year we have a much smaller senior class. Please encourage and help the kids with their ad sales.
There will be a pancake breakfast fundraiser at Glendale on Saturday, April 18th. Please make every effort to attend and bring extra friends and family!! More info. will be sent out later.
The football website is full of information. Some of it has not yet been updated for next year but it will be soon, like the booster club contact list. Please check the website frequently at www.glendalefootball.org or you can access it through the glendale school website.(click on sports under the student section)
Coach Heman is making changes in a few areas this year. Among other things, the max out “event” is new this year, called the Iron Man Challenge. See the attached schedule for the date. Parents will be encouraged to attend. Also new this year will be a lock-in following the PowerAde scrimmage.
There will be an attempt to improve communication this year and parents are encouraged to feel free to email Coach Heman or call him at 766-0999. Also, please feel free to email me, Tina Watson, with questions and I can pass them on or refer you to the right person. And if I need to update your address, phone numbers, email address, etc., please let me know.
There will be some much needed changes with the stadium that should be finished by the first game, as well as the locker room will be fully functioning.
Finally, you will have several opportunities to join the Booster Club and pay the fee for your son’s team meals. Although it is optional to join the Booster Club, it is NOT optional to pay for team meals.
Thanks and Go Falcons!!!!
