Falcons Crush Eagles

Our Falcons hosted the Nixa Eagles for a final regular season game, with the winner being runner-up to Ozark in Class 5 District 7, and going on to the state playoffs - the loser goes home.  Our Falcons, using a big 2nd half push, beat the Eagles 33-7.  It was a difficult night to be a spectator, since the JFK scoreboard had suffered a lightning strike, and was not operational - so from the stands we could not tell the game time, play clock, etc.; nevertheless, the game pressed on (later, late in the 3rd quarter, the scoreboard did come back on)!

Our Falcons scored the first touchdown, but a bad snap would lead to a failed PAT, giving us a 6-0 lead.  The Eagles would answer with their own touchdown drive, to take a 7-6 lead.  And that score would hold up through half-time, as both defenses tightened up.

But the second half was a different story.  Our Falcons took the opening 2nd half kick-off, and marched down the field to score another touchdown.  A failed 2-point conversion left our Falcons with 12-7 lead.  From there our Falcons would hold the Eagles scoreless en route to scoring 3 more touchdowns, for the final 33-7 score.

Now that our Falcons have extended their season, we will next take on the District 6 runner-up Lebanon Yellowjackets (who lost to Waynesville tonight, 14-21 - Waynesville is the District 6 champion).  We will host the Yellowjackets at JFK stadium, on Wednesday November 5th, at 7:00pm.  It will be a rematch of week 5, when we visited Lebanon and lost 17-35 - this time, with an offense firing on all cylinders, and a stiff defense, we will defeat the Yellowjackets.  Come out Wednesday night and cheer on our Falcons to a round 1 playoff victory - GO FALCONS!!!

Falcons Cruise Past KC East

Our Falcons hosted the KC East Bears, on Senior & Homecoming Night, and cruised to an easy victory, winning 49-7.  By the end of the first quarter, our Falcons were up 21-0, then by the half, it was 42-0.  Just like last week, the second half was run mostly by the JV team, and KC East scored a very late 4th quarter touchdown, for the final 49-7 score.

With the Ozark Tigers winning tonight (28-7 over Kickapoo), they have clinched the Class 5 District 7 #1 seed (4-0 in district play).  The Nixa Eagles (now 2-1 in district play) defeated Parkview tonight 42-6, which sets up a big showdown next Friday, Halloween night, with the winner of the Falcons-Eagles game taking the #2 seed, and along with that, a district playoff spot.  Our Falcons will host Nixa (and that game has been moved to JFK stadium), therefore we will need to come with our A-game in order to defeat the Eagles, and secure that #2 seed in District 7.

So come out next Friday, October 31st, at JFK stadium, to cheer the Falcons on to another victory, and a District 7 playoff spot - GO FALCONS!!!

JV & Freshman Falcon Teams Finish Their Seasons

The JV and Freshman teams wrapped up their seasons this past Monday night, by hosting the Parkview Vikings.  Both teams played well, and played close, but both of our Falcon teams lost to the visiting Vikings.  Each of our teams had the ball on offense to finish the game, but could not score the tying or go-ahead points.

Congratulations to the Freshman team for finishing with an impressive 6 wins, 2 losses season - we look forward to seeing these boys again next year!

Congratulations to the JV team, who, despite losing all their games, played hard, improved greatly as the season went on, and learned a lot about the game of football and playing as a team.  The final two games of the season were especially close, losing to Ozark in overtime, and losing that close battle w/Parkview (our JV Falcons took leads over Ozark & Parkview deep into the 2nd halves of both games).  We look forward to seeing all these JV boys stepping up next year to fill in the vacated spots of the graduating Seniors, and then dominating the Ozarks Conference!

GO FALCONS!!!
