Fund Raiser for the Football Team

FUNDRAISER

The Football team is looking for parents and students (ten and older) to volunteer during the 2010 K-Swiss Ironman in Branson. Our team will earn $300 for every 15 people that volunteer per shirt (shift lasts 3-4 hours) as a group. Opportunities for volunteering start on Wednesday, September 16 through race day on Sunday, September 19, 2010. If you are interested in helping with this fun and excited event, please email Courtney Heman. Please include your name, phone number, GHS Football, and times you are available so that I create groups to benefit our team.

INFORMATION FROM BRANSON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE:

The K-Swiss Ironman 70.3 Branson is a 2010 Qualifying Series Member Event to be held on Sunday, September 19, 2010. Currently, there are 1,061 athletes registered to complete representing 37 states and 3 countries. Pro athletes registered to compete are Pip Taylor, Devon Palmer, Kelly Williamson, Leon Griffin and TJ Tollakson.
In order to make our event unforgettable for athletes, spectators, media representatives and VIPs from all over the world, more than 400 volunteers are needed. We are inviting local non-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) designation (including schools and churches) and military organizations to provide (15) or more volunteers for the event. In appreciation, Ironman will donate $300 to your organization for your efforts! There are many ways in which your group can be part of this great experience … whether they want to manage bike and run aid stations, serve as course marshals or manage transition areas – we look forward having them on our Team! Shifts will vary but generally last 3-4 hours with some beginning as early as 5 a.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2010. Volunteers may also be required earlier in the week to assemble athlete information packets and to register athletes.

First of the Season Booster Club Meeting

Dear Falcon Parents,

We will hold our pre-season Booster Club meeting at 9:00am, Saturday, August 14th prior to the Power Up Scrimmage.

The meeting will be held at the field on the patio outside the HPER.

Please be prepared to join the Falcon Booster Club ($35 per family), pay for your players pre/post game meals ($35 per player) and to either donate a 24 pack of 20oz Powerade or $16.00 to cover the cost of the same directly from Coca-Cola.

We will also discuss Booster Club positions that still need to be filled and along with the concession stand schedule, pre-game tailgate parties, etc.

This will be our only time to meet as a group prior to the start of the season – please make plans to attend.

Ad Sales Reminder – Deadline Friday July 30th

Just a reminder that we will be at the school this Friday, July 30th at 10:00am to collect packets with ads and money from the players after practice. Please send everything with your player that day or plan on stopping by after 10.
